Rabbi Zevi Perelmutter, one of the leading rabbis of Poland, died today at his home at the age of 90. The rabbi had been ill for the past few weeks, and because of his advanced age doctors gave up his case as hopeless.
Rabbi Perelmutter was the oldest rabbi in Poland. At the time of the German occupation of Poland during the war, he was a member of the Council of State. Later on, when Poland became an independent republic, he was elected as a member of the first parliament.
A grandson of Rabbi Perelmutter, Rabbi L. Shotland, now lives in Paterson, N. J.
