The Zim Israel Navigation Company will expand both passenger and cargo services between New York and Israel in the next twelve months, it was announced here today. It will run passenger sailings from New York to Haifa every three weeks; cargo sailings from New York. Baltimore and Philadelphia in passenger ships and by modern passenger-carrying freighters; and general cargo as well as bulk cargo services from Gulf and South Atlantic ports directly to Israel.
These schedules were announced here today by Dr. N. Wydra, managing director of the Zim Lines, who declared that by the end of this year the company will have a fleet of 23 passenger and cargo ships, with every older vessel replaced by a new, modern one.
