The retirement of A. M. Hyamson, director of immigrations and travel in the government is arousing cosiderable speculation here. He will reach retirement age in August, 1935, but goes on leave in-April, 1934.
There is douht as to whether Mr. Hyanson’s sucessor will be an English Christian or an English Jew. It is reported in official quarters that two high officials in the chief secratariat are likely candidates for the post.
Among the names mentioned for the position are Eric Mills, C.B.E., asslstant to the chief secretary, and Max Nurock, O.B.E., assistant secretary.
