Mrs. Rose L. Halprin, chairman of the American section of the Jewish Agency Executive, said today that a “wide area of agreement” was expressed at the recent consultative meeting of Zionist leaders in Jerusalem on the central tasks facing the Zionist movement. She said that “a revitalized Zionist movement will have to place aliyah (immigration) in the forefront, but youth and educational activities will have to be intensified and strengthened if the movement is to fulfill its mission and potentialities.”
Mrs. Halprin noted that, for the first time, practically all members of the Israel Government participated in the deliberations and they spoke, not in behalf of their parties, she said, but “out of a deep desire to understand the diaspora and its problems and to present Israel’s critical problems to the diaspora leaders.”
