The recent outbreak of anti-Semitic violence in Argentina and Uruguay was condemned here today at the opening of the annual convention of the Zionist Federation of Chile. The protest against the anti-Jewish incidents was made by Israel Pollak, president of the Federation, who addressed the convention, attended by more than 100 delegates.
Senator Ramomiro Tomic of the Christian Democratic party, who recently visited Israel, lauded the Jewish State for its progress in the economic and cultural fields. Other speakers included Israel Ambassador Eliezer Doron, Gil Sinay, president of the Central Committee of Jewish Communities and Yosef Tchornicky of the Jewish Agency. Miguel Maladavsky was elected the new president of the Federation.
