Issues Statement in Reply to Suggestion of American Opposition (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)
The Zionist Executive is dealing energetically with the question of transferring to Palestine the remains of Theodor Herzl, founder of the Zionist Organization, who is buried in the Vienna Jewish cemetery.
A statement to this effect was issued by the Palestine Zionist Executive in reference to the news despatch relating the decision of the American “Association for Z. O. A. Reorganization,” the opposition body, to take steps for the transference.
The statement declares that the transfer has been delayed due to unfavorable circumstances and that now the Executive is dealing with the matter which “cannot be in the hands of the opposition group, some of whose members have not even participated in the Zionist movement during the last seven years.”
