A federation of Zionists in Hungary was established following prolonged and difficult negotiations with the authorities.
The statutes of the organization were not officially sanctioned by the government, but the police authorities have taken cognizance of the establishment and the constitution of the organization.
Dr. Ostern was elected president of the Federation and Dr. Nissan Kahan, chairman of the General Committee.
The elections took place at a mass meeting attended by 1000 organized Zionists. Israel Cohen of the Zionist Executive of London cooperated in the establishment of the Federation.
