A Westchester Zionist Council will be organized at a conference to be held next Wednesday evening at New Rochelle, it was announced here yesterday. Morris Rothenberg, president of the Zionist Organization of America, will be the principal speaker.
Invitations to attend have been issued to all Zionist and Jewish groups in Mount Vernon, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Peekskill and surrounding towns. The conference will be held at the New Rochelle Y. M. H. A., 99 Winyah avenue.
The conference will mark one of the initial efforts of the fall toward the building of a greater Zionist Organization, the plans of which were formulated at the last Zionist convention in Atlantic City.
The provisional steering committee in charge of the arrangements for the conference are H. P. Fierst, Mt. Vernon; William Fondiller, Yonkers; Bernard G. Richards, Crestwood: Harold G. Jaffer, Mt. Vernon; J. Lukashok, New Rochelle; Isidor Kadis, Mt. Vernon; Murray Wyner, New Rochelle; Dr. S. Miller, Yonkers; Charles Ross, Mt. Vernon, and Rabbi Rosenthal, Peekskill.
