The Poale Zion of Britain, a constituent section of the Labor Party, presented today ten-point program on the Middle East situation to the foreign affairs committee of the Labor Party.
The program, which rejected the idea of a return to a status quo in the Egyptian-Israel situation as endangering the security of Israel and enhancing the prestige of the Cairo military junta, also asked:
The United Nations to press for direct Israel-Arab talks; guarantee Israel’s rights to navigation through the Suez Canal and the Gulf of Akaba, guarantee that the Gaza Strip would not be returned to Egypt and that the Strip and the Sinai Peninsula would not be used for infiltration of and attack on Israel.
