The Mid-Winter Conference of Junior Hadassah, the Young Women’s Zionist Organization of America, will be opened officially on January 3rd at the Peter Stuyvesant Hotel, 86th Street and Central Park West, by Frances D. Lesser, the National President. The Conference will last through Saturday, January 3rd and Sunday, January 4th.
Mrs. Edward Jacobs, National President of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America and Robert Szold, Chairman of the Zionist Organization of America Administration will speak; Alice L. Seligsberg, prominent New York welfare worker and Zionist will give a report on Palestinian affairs. Recent developments in Palestine will be discussed by Morris Rothenberg, who is a member of the Jewish Agency and of the Administration of the Zionist Organization of America. Simon Halkin, well-known in this country as well as in Palestine as poet and teacher will address a round-table discussion on a Jewish cultural program.
At the luncheon on Sunday, Jesse E. Sampter, poetress, recently arrived from Palestine, will be the guest speaker. On Sunday morning, Mrs. Irma L. Lindheim, authoress of The Immortal Adventure, will address the meeting on the Jewish National Fund.
### Henrietta Szold, founder of Hadassah, whose recent 70th birthday was celebrated throughout the entire world, will be the guest of honor at the Conference.
For the past ten years, Junior Hadassah with its 10,000 members has supported the Children’s Village of Meier Shfeyah, the Nurses’ Training School and the most recent undertaking, Pardessanna, an agricultural colony, which is to be a training ground for the graduates of Meier Shfeyah.
