As the World Zionist Congress wound up its first week of general debate on issues confronting it, private negotiations began on composition of the new administration of the World Zionist Organization.
It is reported today that two seats in the Jewish Agency executive have been offered to the Zionist Organization of America, for Benjamin G. Browdy, its president, and Dr. Emanuel Neumann, its former president, with the proviso that Dr. Neumann assume duties within Israel. The Z.O.A., however, is reported insisting on the designation of these two men without conditions.
Representatives of the two conflicting groups within the World Confederation of General Zionists are to meet at a roundtable shortly and seek to heal the breach within the movement which arose over the question of representation within the Confederation for the General Zionist Party of Israel.
Following peacemaking efforts by Israel Dunsky, South African General Zionist, a tacit understanding was reached between the two groups on the basis of giving the Israel General Zionists 24 mandates in the Confederation and representation in all organs established by the Zionist Congress. The roundtable conference will seek to put this understanding into definite form.
