Zionist Youths in Singapore May Be Among Immigrants Who Will Reach Israel This Year

Zionist youths from the small Jewish community is Singapore, British crown colony on the Malay peninsula, may be among the immigrants who are expected to arrive in Israel this year according to information caching the World Jewish Congress here.

More than ten percent of the 1,000 Jews living in Singapore are now receiving training in Habonim centers there, the W.J.C. reported. Singapore has two ###### one of which was constructed by the community end the other by the late ##r Manasseh Meyer, a wealthy Iraqi Jew who settled in the city. The Singapore community has appealed for aid to transfer some 50 Jews for permanent settlement is Israel, the Congress said, adding that it has forwarded this appeal to the #### Government.
