Disappointment over the failure of the Inter Allied Conference in London to include the post-war status of the Jews in its recent discussions is expressed here today in the Zionist Review, official organ of the Zionists in Great Britain.
“The Jewish people,” the Review writes, ” have a right to expect that their sufferings should not be ignored by those who assume the unique responsibility for the future of the world. It would perhaps require a high degree of imagination, at this stage, to call representatives of the Jewish people into the Councils of Democracy. But it would seem the obvious duty of the Inter-Allied Conference to include the Jewish problem in their ” terms of reference” in the knowledge that the future of Europe will depend to a great extent on a constructive, statesmanlike national solution of this problem.”
“When leaders of democracy assemble in London, with the happily assured collaboration of the United States, to lay the foundation of a more permanent world structure than that so easily shattered by the Nazi hordes, they dare not ignore this vital problem which so often has eaten into the fabric of society,” the Zionist organ states.
