Plans for a city-wide campaign in preparation for the election of delegates to the nineteenth Zionist Congress, to be held on Sunday, June 23, were adopted Monday night at a special conference at the Hotel Astor, of more than 100 Zionist leaders of New York.
The conference, called by the New York Zionist Region, pledged its support of the joint slate of candidates of the Zionist Organization of America, Hadassah and the Order Sons of Zion, who have formed a united front in order to gain a larger representation for American Zionists at the World Zionist Congress. The Congress is scheduled to open in Lucerne August 27.
Detailed plans for carrying out the election by secret ballot of the American delegates to the Congress were outlined. More than 1,000 polling places will be set up in numerous parts of the country on June 23. Of these, 150 will be located in Greater New ork.
