Many Zionists and a number of non-Zionists have resigned from the executive of the French Jewish Veterans Organization following a difference of opinion over the attitude which the group should take toward the Prague trial. The member who resigned have begun to form a new veterans organization.
After the war the veterans group reached’ a peak membership of 4,000. A small group of Communists, estimated at about 100, eventually gained control of the group’s policy. As a result many nationalist-mined Jews left the organizations. It is estimated that the group now has about 900 members.
