The Zionists of New York will hold another demonstration at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening, December 13, for the purpose of showing “Zionist sentiment and solidarity,” according to an announcement issued by Bernard A. Rosenblatt, chairman of the New York Zionist Region, which is sponsoring the affair.
Coinciding with Chanukkah, the event is to be known as a Maccabaean festival. Nathan Straus, the venerable philanthropist, is honorary chairman, Jonah J. Goldstein, chairman, and the other officers are Louis P. Rocker, Morris Margulies and Morris Kramer.
In a statement issued in connection with the announcement of the festival, Louis Lipsky, former president of the Zionist Organization of America, declared that the Maccabaean Festival would be an appropriate occasion to evince Jewish solidarity with respect to the upbuilding of the Jewish National Home in Palestine.
