Jacques Torczyner, president of the Zionist Organization of America, who returned this week from a three-week visit to Israel, told a ZOA meeting here today that “the high morale of Israel’s Defense Forces and its preparedness and resolve to repel aggression from any quarter, be it Syria, Jordan, or any other neighboring country serving as a base for terroristic operations against Israel, has not been affected in the slightest degree by the acute economic problems which the people of Israel are now grappling with.”
Mr. Torczyner said that the fact of Israel’s morale, preparedness and resolve “seems not to be reckoned with by some Arab neighboring states, particularly Syria, which continues its uninterrupted and persistent incursions into Israeli territory.”
