Two famed scientists driven out of Germany because of their religion are quietly working here in a special laboratory in the Manchester Victoria Memorial Jewish Hospital. They are the brothers Herman and Samuel Zondek, the first a famed physician, the latter, an equally famous pathologist.

The two have been at work here in their laboratory, which was specially constructed at a cost of approximately $10,000 for the past three months. Early. in March they will be joined by another brother, Dr. Bernard Zondek, the world-famous gynecologist and co-inventor of the Ascheim-Zondek test, who is now engaged in research at the Rockefeller Institute in Sweden.

No infromation regarding the nature of the search upon which the brothers are engaged is available.

Referring to the work of the Zondeks, Nathan Laski, outstanding Jewish leader and chairman of the management board of the hospital, described the laboratories as more than clinical laboratories and said they were fully equipped for research.

“Through the unfortunate happenings in Germany,” he declared, “Germany has lost three great men and Manchester has been fortunate enough to secure them.”
