You basically can’t do anything to get away from the Harlem Shake. You’ll see it on the news, under water, in Norwegian army drills, and even kids are doing it, so it was only a matter of time before Yeshiva University got the memo and gathered in their lounge to give the dance a (feeble?) attempt. Actor-turned-everything-else James Franco has a rather interesting art exhibit showing in Berlin till March called “Gay Town,” E Online reports.
And if the name of the exhibit isn’t indicative of how obscure the art is, the press release reveals the paintings, drawings, and sculptures, on display to coincide with the Berlin Film Festival, were made in “hotel rooms, makeshift studios and other temporary locations whilst completing other projects, mainly motion pictures”– which sort of sounds like his art work was made in a haste while Franco was filming, just so he could claim to be an artist.
The press release states Franco’s “Gay Town” explores the important themes that are important to Franco’s artistic persona, with issues that relate to “stereotypes and other societal concerns such as society’s preoccupation with celebrity,” but according to some of the photos surfacing on the Internet, the art just looks bizarre.
Some pieces of art include a painting of Spiderman which reads “F*ck Spidey,” a topless abstract portrait of the artist with the tag line “James the thinker Franco,” and some chicken scratches of paint on a cardboard. Deep, man.

It might have its moments, but for the most part, NBC’s Saturday Night Live is not very funny. Which is why we’re confused SNL cut the skit of a C-SPAN spoof of confirmation hearings for Chuck Hagel, President Obama’s nominee for secretary of defense. The skit pokes fun at Israel-lovers, where Hagel and Republicans one-up each…
