Another instance of the confidence the Soviet Government reposes in the Joint Distribution Committee is furnished by the shipment of coal from government stores to institutions maintained by the Committee.
Deliveries are made according to a recent contract, whereby the JDC is to receive coal in return for its undertaking to secure $200,000 credit in the United States for the purchase of mining and other machinery for Russia. Deliveries have commenced, despite the fact that the machinery has not arrived as yet.
