Two Jews, Isaac Handel and Jacob Sava, sentenced to death by a military court martial on the charge of having destroyed army telegraph lines were executed in Athens, according to a story printed in the London Daily Express.
In announcing their death, the Greek communique expressed regret that the executed men were of the Jewish faith adding that the “Greek government highly esteems the Jewish people”.
