The Commission in charge of the new Roumanian constitution has made an eleventh hour concession to the Jews on the citizenship clause. Upon persistent efforts of the Jewish members of Parliament the commission has agreed to amend the citizenship clause giving all those residents of Roumania since 1918 the right of citizenship.

The original clause excluded from citizenship those coming to Roumania after 1914.
