A ritual blood accusation against Jews of Nassilsk which threatened to lead to anti-Jewish disturbances was nipped in the bud here. Following the disappearance of a Christian girl, a Jewish tailor was accused by the mother of having killed her for ritual purposes.

The tailor was arrested and excitement reigned until the girl was found and the tailor released.
