Throughout the Caucasus, one synagogue is being closed down in each town by the authorities.

In the district of Nikolaiev, a group of Jewish agricultural workers have seized the synagogue and transformed it into a club. The Jewish workers at Charkov have also started a campaign to influence the Government to hand over the synagogues to them for the purposes of establishing a club. In the district of Elizabethgrad the Government offices have decided to make Monday the general rest day instead of Saturday or Sunday.
