Captain Swan, paymaster of the British Gendarmerie in Palestine, was murdered Friday night while driving on the main street from Rimlah to Jaffa. Swan was accompanied by another officer and two nurses. As Capt. Swan stepped out of his automobile to remove an overturned wagon that obstructed the road, six robbers, headed by the Dervish, Abdul Kader, fired at him from ambush and immediately killed him.
