The synagogues of Jassy were damaged and plundered during the attack by students in the Jewish quarter, say reports from Jassy supplementing those previously received. The synagogues shared the fate of the Jewish residences which were pillaged.
The initiator of the excesses, it is learned, is Professor Careanu who has been arrested. Minister of Education Anghelescu today returned to Bucharest and announced steps would be taken to punish the rioters.
