The Jewish “Kehilahs” and communal institutions of Germany are threatened with total extinction as the result of the fall of the mark.

Under the present depreciated value of the German currency, the Kehillas are finding it impossible to pay the employees and officials of the community institutions.

Meanwhile the government has slightly alleviated the plight of some by giving a few of the larger Kehillas greater subventions than heretofore.
