Dictator Von Kahr’s order expelling East European Jews from Bavaria is proving “catastrophic” to workers employed by these residents, many of whom have lived in Bavaria for years, declares the Munich Post.
The operation of the expulsion order is indiscriminating, merchants, employers of many laborers, being among those that are sent out of the country.
Although officially the search of houses occupied by East European Jews was undertaken as a sort of hunt for valuta speculators, Jewish families whose houses are visited by the authorities are subjected to the most grilling inquiries. The origin and extent of their wardrobe, the papers they read and their political views – all form part of the searchers quest for knowledge.
