The Jewish Masonic service–the first of its kind to be held in England although one was held in Scotland about two years since–has been an unqualified success, and it must have come as a surprise to a large number present to find so many rabbis and Jewish ministers as members of the craft and as an especial surprise to a greater number to find the Chief Rabbi Dr. Joseph H. Hertz, vested as a Past District Chaplain of South Africa. One feature of the service was the translation by Israel Zangwillef two Jewish hymns as cung in the synagogues of the present day,
