Floods Cover Poland and Lithuania

A flood, such as has not been experienced for the last ten years, occurred today when the Vistula River overflowed, compelling thousands of inhabitants in the city and suburbs of Warsaw to flee from their houses in order to save their lives.

Great chunks of ice are floating in the river, and it is continuing to swell. The right bank, on the Praga side, has been flooded to the extent of two miles inaldn. Citizens committees are being formed to rescue and aid the stricken population.
