General Dawes, the Republican nominee for Vice President, when interviewed here by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency on the questions of immigration and the Ku Klux Klan, declined to say anything on these matters. At the same time he refused an interview to other papers on general subjects.
Jewish citizens of Chicago, who know General Dawes and have come in contact with him in business, are of the opinion that he is opposed to the Ku Klux Klan, and consider him to be a favorable nominee.
