The directors of the Jewish schools in Constantinople, as well as leading members of the Jewish community, at a meeting here decided unanimously not to accept the ruling of the Angora Government eliminating French from the Jewish schools in Turkey.

A delegation was elected for the purpose of appearing before the Director of Public Education, Hilmy Bey, to request him not to enforce this law. Should it prove impossible to repeal it, a modification will be asked for, enforcing the law in such a manner as not to injure the education of the pupils. Should both requests be refused, it has been decided to send a delegation to the Angora Government.
