Announcement of the receipt by the Jewish Publication Society of America of a “large sum” for the publication of a history of the Jews was made last night at the annual dinner of the society. The money was received through the will of Miss Rosetta M. Ulman, of Williamsport.
Pa., and it was said the history would be prepared by Professor Max Margolis, of Drosie College, and Professor Alexander Marx, of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.
Simon Miller, of Philadelphia, was elected president of the society, and Adolph Ochs, of New York, first vice-president. Other officers chosen included Henry Fernberger, treasurer and I. George Dobsevage, secretary.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
