National Minorities of Lithuania Will Use Courts to Protect Rights

The question of the national minorities is again becoming acute owing to the attitude of the Christian Democratic majority in the Lithuanian Diet.

The parties belonging to the majority having refused to raise the question of the national minority rights in the Sejm, the representatives of the national minorities held a conference at which they decided to take action in the court whenever an infringement of minority rights occurred.

This action will be taken on the basis of the Lithuanian

Constitution, which guarantees the protection of the rights of the national minorities in the country.
