Percy S. Straus, son of the late Isadore Straus, was the Chairman of a group of thirty New Yorkers, former Georgians, who acted as a committee of welcome to the Georgian delegation to the Democratic Convention here.

This delegation, from the home state of the Ku Klux Klan, is generally suspected of Klan affiliations. Hollins N. Randolph of Atlanta, who is a great-grandson of Thomas Jefferson, led the delegation. When asked by an interviewer concerning the delegation’s connection with the Klan, he stated: “If there are any Klansmen on this delegation, then I don’t know about it.”
