The minority groups in Poland were much agitated to learn that the Senate intends to ask the Government to take diplomatic steps to release itself from the obligations towards minorities imposed upon Poland by the Versaille Treaty. The Senate uses as an excuse the fact that the United States has not ratified the Treaty, and also claims that the Polish Constitution already guarantees the rights of its national minorities and that there is no need for a Treaty which presumes upon the Polish sovereignty.
