The celebration of the 250th anniversary of the ”Great Synagogue” in Amsterdam was honored by the visit of Queen Wilhelmina and the Crown Princess Julianna.
Chief Rabbi Onderwyzer and the President of the community, Herr E. B. Asscher spoke emphasizing the traditions of justice, tolerance and liberty of Holland and of the Dutch Royal House. Two tablets commemorating the visit were unveiled.
