Leon Pachannu, aged 23, a Romanian Jewish student, fired today at the Roumanian Consul in London, Mr. Beza, at the Roumanian Consulate here.
When brought before the police court, Pachannu declared that he committed the act out of despair, having intended only to shoot himself. He was in financial trouble and he reached the climax of his despair when the Consul refused to give him promised support.
