Ussishkin in Berlin Announces Opposition to Policy of Zionist Executive

Announcement of his opposition to the present policy of the Zionist Executive was made today by M. M. Ussishkin, Director of the Jewish National Fund in Palestine, who arrived here yesterday on his way to London. In an interview with the representative of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, he declared:

“I have abstained in the last three months from criticizing the policy of the Zionist Executive, working, instead, successfully for the Jewish National Fund. However, when the meeting of the Actions Committee is convened, I will take a definite stand on matters.

“I am opposed to calling the Zionist Congress next Winter, because I think that this would paralyze the Zionist work in the most important season.

“Concerning the participation of the non-Zionists in the Zionist work, I do not think that there is any emergency. I am opposed to handing over the supervision of the Zionist policy to non-Zionists, although co-ordination and mutual control of the economic policy is desirable. The question to be fought out now is: ‘Will the Zionist organization be preserved or will it liquidate itself.'”

Mr. Ussishkin further stated that he was in favor of transferring the Zionist headquarters from London to Palestine, firstly because Palestine is the main center of Zionist work, and secondly, because it has been proven that London as the headquarters of Zionist activity is impossible.
