Senator Baniu yesterday in the Senate called upon the Government to reject the request of Bessarabian and Transylvanian Jews for Jewish schools. Baniu’s address was anti-Semitic in the extreme, the Senator declaring that Transylvanian Jews support the revolutionary aims of the Hungarians. He also called upon the Government to energetically suppress the “Jewish State” in Roumania. Angheleson replied in behalf of the Government that Senator Baniu’s wishes would be fulfilled.
