“The rights and interests of the Jews in Italy will always be safeguarded,” declared Benito Mussolini, Italian Prime Minister, in an audience granted to the Chief Rabbi and President of the Union of Jewish Communities in Italy, yesterday.

The delegation called upon Mussolini in connection with the new Education Bill which creates a difficult situation for the Jewish children attending the general schools, as it introduces instruction in the Catholic catechism for all classes. The Premier promised to take steps to remove the disabilities under which the Jewish children find themselves.
