That the conversion of Hans Herzl to Catholicism may have been an act of spite work against the Zionists was disclosed here, in well-informed circles. It was made known that Hans Herzl had a controversy recently with the Zionist Organization concerning financial matters in connection with the proposed publication of his translation of his father’s Diary from German into English. Young Herzl demanded that a new publication of his father’s Diary in his translation should be issued in the full text, not allowing the Zionists to change a single word. He also demanded for his work a huge sum of money which could not be granted him. Young Herzl was consequently piqued.
