Dr. Polly of Washington, D.C. national lecturer for the Ku Klux Klan, sang his hymn off hate here last night to an open-air audience of 5,000 people of both sexes and of all classes. It was the first meeting of the kind that has ever been held here. Hundreds of men crowded around the speakers’ stand and asked for enrollment blanks. Klansmen in full regalia mingled with the crowds.

Dr. Polly declared the K.K.K. was against no party, people race or creed and immediately began to pour out vitriol on the heads of the Catholics, the Greeks and the Jews. The first initiation meeting of local Klansmen will be held here next Tuesday. Mormons are eligible as members, Klan officials said. They are classed as Gentile along with other Protestants. Mormons deny they are Gentiles but claim to be of Israe.
