Noisy demonstrations of the anti-Semitic association, “Awakening Magyars” took place today in Szolnok following the acquittql of the seven bomb conspirators, who were tried for having thrown the bomb at the Jewish Charity Ball in Scongrad.

Processions of Awakening Magyars marched through the street of Szolnok, wearing white carnations in their buttonholes and shouting “Long live the reawakening Christian National Hungaldom”. The processions were led by the wellknown anti-Semitic deputies, Ulain and Leadwai.

The eatire Hungarian press expresses indigantion at the Szolaok trial. Even the Christian paper, Nemzeti Ujasag, demands a re-trial declaring. “The system of Scongrad crimes must cease and those guilty must be subjected to severe exemplary punishment”. The papers report that when the conspirators were declared free, one of them exclaimed. “Why so much noise for twenty murdered Jews.” Deputy Leadwai shouted in reply from the press box where he sat attending the trial, “What a pity that only so few Jews have been killed !”
