Appointment of Jacob W. Friedman as assistant secretary of the Public Service Commission, succeeding the late Frank P. Redmand, was announced yesterday by the commission. Mr. Friedman was an alderman for five years.

Prominent actors and others affiliated with the theatrical profession are the incorporators of the Jewish Theatrical Guild of America, a membership corporation, which received a charter from the Secretary of State today. William Morns, Elche Can##, Sam Bernard. Harry Cooper. Sime Silverman, Hego Riesenfeld and Frederick Block of New York City are the incorporators of the guild.

Aims of the organization are to assemble the Jews of the amusement, all and industries for the purpose of upholding the ##ble and sacred tradition of the race, and to provide for the specific needs of the Jew in the particular circumstances arising from the nature of theatrical conditions, also to encourage closer and finer brotherhood and citizenship.

Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver, Rabbi of the Temple, Cleveland, Ohio, will be the guest at a dinner tendered in his honor by the National Young Judaca at the Hotel Pennsylvania, New York City, on Tuesday evening. November 25th, 1924.
