The Russian Gran Duchess Cyril will sail on November 29th on the Steamer “Paris” for the United States. She is the wife of Grand Duke Cyril, who is heading the Russian Monarchistic movement in Europe. He lately proclaimed himself Czar of All Russia and issued a proclamation throughout the world asking for financial support of the Russian Monarchistic movement.
While in Russian Monarchistic circles it is contended that the purpose of the Grand Duchess’ visit here is to collect funds for relief purposes, suspicion is voiced that her journey is primarily to foster sentiment in the United States in favor of the Russian Monarchistic movement. Attention is drawn to the fact that the relief committee which has been established by the Russian monarchists is entirely controlled by them and does not aim to be non-sectarian.
