Simple services marked the placing of the body of Gus J. Karger, Washington correspondent of the Cincinati “Times-Star,” in its final resting place in the United Jewish Cemetery yesterday. With these words, “Dust thou art, to dust thou shalt return,” spoken by Rabbi James G. Heller of the Plum Street Temple, the coffin was lowered into its grave, while co-workers and friends stood by with bowed heads.
Services were held in the chapel at the cemetery. The pallbearers were Congressman Nicholas Longworth. Mayor Carrel, City Solicitor Zielonka, Captain Victor Heintz, William C. Culkins, Moses Strauss and Hulbert Taft.
Floral tributes came from all parts of the country. Among the senders were President Coolidge, Senator Frank B. Willis, Chief Justice William Howard Taft, Edwin Gableman, Congressman Nicholas Longworth, Senator Walsh of Montana and Secretary of War John W. Weeks.
