The federal court here convicted J. Rabinowitz of Oakland for selling sacramental wine obtained under the claim that he was a Rabbi of a congregation.

His son, S. Raben, was acquitted.

This is the first conviction in Northern California of a man who posed as a Rabbi to engage in the sale of wine.
