Goeffrey Duveen, member of the famous art firm, donated £50,000 for the erection of a new hospital for ear, nose and throat diseases, in memory of his father, Henry Duveen.

Goeffry Duveen, himself suffered from an ear disease which resulted in deafness. His brother died from a similar cause.
