New Director of Hias Takes Up His Work in Europe

Mr. James Bernstein. President of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid and Sheltering Society of New York (Hias), who has taken up his position as European Director of the Hias, was given a reception on his arrival here. Mr. Bernstein is visiting all the European offices of the Hias to acquaint himself with the present state of Jewish emigration in Eastern Europe.

Mr. Lewin-Epstein, who succeeded Mr. Adolph Held provisionally as European Director of the Hias is proceeding to Palestine in connection with an organization he has founded to enable American Jews to arrange that their relatives, are wish to emigrate from the East European countries, proceed to Palestine.
